Thread: AURIfil Cotton Mako 50 weight for all piecing, quilting and embroidered appliqué.
During the summer of 2011, my oldest daughter, Heather, attended a Girl Scout “lock-in” at the then-known America West arena (later renamed the U.S. Airways Center, and now called the Talking Stick Resort Arena) in downtown Phoenix. After watching a WNBA Phoenix Mercury game, the girls were literally “locked in” the arena for the night. They had numerous activities for the girls, and I think they might have slept for about 10 minutes!
Heather needed a sleeping bag for this event but didn’t own one. What could be more natural for a quilt designer than to decide to make one! It obviously didn’t happen overnight, and not even in time for the event, but this is what inspired the creation of the Peace, Love and Joy Design Collection, released in 2012.
Featuring bold lettering and jumbo flowers, the Peace, Love and Joy Collection will delight the girls in your life. The sleeping bag is ideal to take to events like “lock-ins”, or to grandma’s house, a friend’s house, or any other numerous venues. The matching twin-sized quilt is perfect at home on a bed or for snuggling on the sofa.

This collection grew out of the Peace, Love and Joy Design Collection — after quilters clamored for the rest of the alphabet. I also included numbers and a couple punctuation marks. All are quilting-in-the-hoop designs as well as stand-alone, embroidered appliqué designs.
You can either choose your own message, or use the fun crossword quilt that’s included with this collection. Beware - it's not a perfect crossword!
