Eeyore said it best didn't he? It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine. This quote ran through my head throughout this entire year and it led the vision of Sunshine Cove so it was only natural for sunshine to have a big role in The Heart of Sunshine Cove.
This year has been difficult but when you remember there's always something to be grateful for; always something to look forward to; always sunshine when you look for it... well, it makes things a lot easier.
This gorgeous center medallion is my way of reminding you of that. From the beautiful flowering trees to the large sun beaming its blessings down, every bit of this quilt is to remind you there are brighter times ahead and you can start experiencing them right now if you just look for them.
The Heart of Sunshine Cove is so much more than fabric and thread. It's a reminder that we all need more uplifting moments in our lives. We need to uplift others and accept uplifting ourselves. It's about the pursuit of joy (even when that means creating it ourselves), finding the beauty in every day, and bringing more light in this world even when things get chaotic.
The Sunshine Cove quilt was created with the thought of a global village. As the world is telling us to be more independent, to only look out for ourselves, and to focus on me-me-me, it's an invitation back to simpler times. It's a place where people live in harmony with each other and enjoy the bounty of nature.
That's why you see so much nature in The Heart of Sunshine Cove. From the beautiful trees and luscious green grass in the center to the oversized flowers blooming on the border... it's a reminder to look for beauty all around you.
It paints a scene of a simpler life where things centered around the town square, the church, or one's education and development. I want more of that, don't you?
The Heart of Sunshine Cove is a jumbo square medallion quilt that can be added into the Sunshine Cove quilt to create a gorgeous work of art OR it can be created as a separate quilt altogether. This beautiful design is created entirely in the hoop using an embroidery machine.
You get two different building designs for the center plus three border options so you can create a quilt that truly represents you and what matters most.

- BERNINA Cutwork files to use with the BERNINA Cutwork Tool.
Multi-Formatted Designs
- Designs that can be used in all brands of embroidery machines so you can join the fun no matter what brand of machine you own. Includes: ART, ART80, DST, EXP, JEF, PES, and VP3.
- Designs to do all the machine embroidery applique and quilt each block in the hoop.
2 Sizes & Multiple Color Options
- The gorgeous 50" square quilt can be created using a hoop that is at least 200mm x 200mm (8" x 8")
- A 37.5" square version of each block has been created to accommodate hoops that are 130mm x 180mm (5" x 7") or larger.

What's Needed to Complete the Project?
Embroidery Machine
- Single needle or multi-needle embroidery machine in good working condition.
- For the 50" x 50" version: a hoop that is at least 200mm x 200mm (8" x 8")
- For the 37.5" x 37.5" version: a hoop that is at least 130mm x 180mm (5" x 7")
- The residents of Sunshine Cove have discovered that a magnetic hoop is an awesome accessory for your embroidery machine to make quilting in the hoop a breeze.
Fabric & Thread
- Fabric as specified in the fabric requirements. This is a great stash busting quilt! Fabric is NOT included!
- Embroidery thread. I love AURIfil Cotton Mako 50 weight thread.
- Bobbin thread - Superior Bottom Line #619 Tan recommended
Stabilizer, Fusible, Batting
- Stabilizer - OESD Ultra Clean and Tear or Floriani Stitch N Wash 20" rolls recommended
- Fusible webbing - Heat N Bond Lite recommended
- Batting - Quilter's Dream Orient recommended
