And they can also help. They can heal. They can unleash hope that moves us towards happiness and harmony.

What if we each chose one word to guide the next stage of our life? Let's call it a Power Word and use it to ignite positive change and inspire creativity in our lives. Sometimes a single word can change everything.

Personally, I’m using the Power Word strategy to carry me through the unimaginable.
In December 2022, after returning home from surgery to biopsy my right breast, I was invited to a call with my boss notifying me that my role was being downsized. Two days later, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. As a single mom on a solo income, I naturally turned to action inspired by fear and worry. I felt overwhelmed, anxious, and noticed my thoughts trending toward defeat.
Yet, that is not how I live my life.
Something deep inside of me knew that how I navigate this journey matters. I called on my Power Word...
Courage
Weeks later, I’ve now met complete strangers who’ve shared their experiences with breast cancer as well as friends who have undertaken their journey in private. I am surrounded by the love, compassion, and thoughtfulness of the human spirit which has me feeling uplifted and inspired.
And I am over the moon excited to share this healing and positive energy with you! I’m an intellectually curious creative, and want to invite you to geek out with me and explore why having one word to guide your year and your life is so important.

The Power Word Workshop
Join us on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 9am MST for 90 minutes of fun and inspiration to discover that one word that has the power to change your life.
Dr. Jea will bring her experience as a global trainer and Certified High Performance Coach to create an interactive and joy-filled experience.
Through sharing some basic concepts of neuroscience and the design of the human brain, you'll learn why having a Power Word to guide your choices, direct your thinking and sharpen your focus can change your world.
You'll leave knowing what your Power Word is for the next stage of your life, along with strategies for using it.
The Power Word Stitchout
Join us on Monday, February 20, 2023 at 9am MST for 4 hours of stitching to create a bold and beautiful reminder of your Power Word.
Use the Let There Be LOVE or Express Yourself machine embroidered applique alphabet to create a vertical or horizontal banner to display your Power Word.
Dr. Sarah will share the brand new letter spacing chart that has been developed exclusively for this class.
Learn how to use the chart to space the letters in your Power Word and how to position the machine embroidery applique design for each letter exactly where you want it.
Meet Your Instructors
Dr. Sarah Vedeler
Since I was a young girl, I've had a love for sewing. That love transformed into a hobby, a passion, and then a career. Nearly 2 decades ago, I started designing my own quilts and offering those designs (as well as classes on how to use them) to quilters all over the world.
I discovered my super-power and purpose: to ignite the fire of creativity in the hearts and minds of people who are hungry to experience the transformative process of creating something beautiful themselves. Watching people of all skill-levels and walks of life grow their skillset and their confidence using my designs has been incredible.
I combine my PhD in Theoretical Computer Science and experience from years working as a Software Engineer with a love of color and design to create machine embroidery applique and quilting in the hoop designs that allow you to create spectacular quilts and other projects.

As an educator, entrepreneur, optimist, and achievement
accelerator, … and most importantly, a proud mom, Dr. Jea inspires individuals to build brilliance in their lives; to live with confidence, compassion, and courage.
From the joy-filled walls of the classroom, Dr. Jea began upleveling her success and influence across the globe. Leading the way as an edupreneur, Dr. Jea founded downtown Denver’s first elementary school. She later served the Colorado Department of Higher Education and Colorado Department of Education incubating innovation in educator preparation under the leadership of the Lieutenant Governor. Her experiences have provided her with opportunities to advise the White House and Gates Foundation. Eager to explore the industries our children will enter after graduation, Dr. Jea identified IT as the best place to discover the skills and dispositions our children will need to succeed in the 21st century. She joined the high tech world and led the development of high performance and leadership trainings across the globe.
